PGE honored as No. 1 supporter of the arts
PGE/PGE Foundation ranked No. 1 among business donors to Portland area arts and culture organizations, over the last ten years. The award was presented at the Business for Culture and the Arts Breakfast of Champions.

PGE ranked top ten in corporate philanthropy
PGE/PGE Foundation ranked No. 8 among large companies in Oregon, for its corporate giving to the community and ranked No. 1 among business donors to Portland area arts and culture organizations, over the last ten years, by the Portland Business Journal.

PGE Foundation awards almost $500,000 in grants in second and third quarters.
PGE Foundation awarded 47 grants totaling $474,000 to Oregon nonprofits. This concludes the year’s grantmaking bringing the total amount awarded by the foundation in 2011 to $1.04 million.

PGE Foundation awards $245,000 in grants in June meeting.
In its June 2011 board meeting, the PGE Foundation awarded $50,000 to fund scholarships and the Matched Education Savings Account College Initiative at Oregon Independent Colleges Foundation’s ten member colleges.

PGE welcomes new board members
We welcomed two new additions to the PGE Foundation Board of Directors in 2010, Dave Robertson, v.p. of Public Policy and DeAngeloa Wells, general manager of Organizational Learning and Development.

PGE honored nationally for outstanding arts support
PGE was recently named to the BCA TEN: Best Companies Supporting the Arts in America by The Business Committee for the Arts.

PGE Foundation emphasizes education in its grant making the first quarter of 2010
In the first quarter of 2010, the PGE Foundation gave top priority to providing educational opportunities to students with two grants to public universities — Portland State and Oregon State — and a large award to the Community 101 student grant-making program. Altogether, 49 nonprofits received grants totalling more than half a million dollars.

PSU and PGE Form Strategic Sustainable Alliance
PGE and Portland State University have formed a long-term strategic partnership to promote the economic, environmental and social sustainability of the Portland metro area.

In support of this partnership, the PGE Foundation has committed $50,000 over two years to establish the PGEFoundation Renewable Energy Research Laboratory. Read more»

Two Oregon foundations expand youth program
PGE Foundation and The Oregon Community Foundation signed a formal agreement to collaborate on the award-winning Community 101 student leadership and grantmaking program created by the PGE Foundation.

A promise to continue to generously fund the successful statewide program brings the two foundations together in a partnership that will yield a ripple-effect of benefits.
