News From the Foundation
Steve Corey, chair of The Oregon Community Foundation and Gwyneth Gamble Booth, chair of the PGE Foundation, are pictured at right shaking hands after signing a formal agreement on June 10 to collaborate on the award-winning, 11-year-old Community 101 student leadership and grant-making program that was created by the PGE Foundation.
The signing took place as Corey and OCF President Greg Chaillé visited the PGE Foundation board meeting to thank the board and staff for sharing the program with OCF, thus enabling many more schools across Oregon to participate in Community 101.
“We are honored to be joining with Oregon's largest foundation, with $1 billion in assets, in this endeavor,” said Carole Morse, PGE Foundation president. “OCF has a statewide reach and shares the PGE Foundation's desire to educate the next generation of community leaders and philanthropists.”
The PGE Foundation is the corporate foundation of Portland General Electric, and its work supports the vision of PGE as a leader and responsible corporate citizen. To learn more about this collaboration and what it means for Community 101, read the press release.
The PGE Foundation awarded nearly $700,000 to Oregon nonprofits in the first quarter of 2008. Read the press release.
